European Chain Factories: My Trusted Partners in Germany and Italy

For over a decade, I have sourced 95% of my chains from European factories—mainly in Germany and Italy. Both countries combine tradition, craftsmanship, and reliability, making them my go-to partners. Here’s my experience inside Europe’s best chain factories.

Why I Source Chains in Europe

Throughout my jewelry career, necklaces and bracelets have always been at the heart of my collections. While many brands rely on Asia for chain production, I chose a different path early on: sourcing almost all of my chains in Germany and Italy. Today, 95% of my chains come from European factories, with only a small fraction produced in Asia.

Don’t get me wrong—I love Asia for its expertise, scale, and reliable deliveries. But when it comes to chains, Europe has consistently proven to be the best choice—for me personally.

The advantages are clear. Europe offers tradition and craftsmanship, with factories that have been refining their expertise for generations. Accessibility is another benefit: a short flight makes factory visits and face-to-face meetings easy.

Communication is smooth and straightforward, without the barriers of time zones. Most importantly, sustainability is not just a trend here—it’s a standard.

Every supplier I work with is a member of the Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC)and uses 100% recycled silver, which has always been a non-negotiable for me.

On top of that, many factories have welcomed me behind the scenes and given me access to production—a rare opportunity that not only deepened my trust but also provided authentic storytelling material for social media. For brands, this kind of transparency is invaluable, allowing customers to truly connect with the craftsmanship behind each piece.

German Chain Production: Quality and Trust

Germany is where my journey in chain sourcing began, and over time I’ve built one of the strongest factory networks here. Many of my partners are traditional, family-owned businesses that have been perfecting their craft for decades. What I appreciate most about working in Germany is the uncompromising quality—German precision doesn’t just apply to engineering, it shows in every millimeter of chain production as well.

Sustainability is also deeply rooted. All of the factories I collaborate with operate under RJC certification and work exclusively with recycled silver. The label “Made in Germany” remains a powerful USP in international markets and continues to add value to my collections. Another advantage is the ease of collaboration: fairs, factory visits, and sample selections are efficient and straightforward, which makes product development smooth and reliable.

Over the years, these business relationships have evolved into friendships, and that human connection has become one of the most rewarding aspects of my career. Many of my best-selling pieces—necklaces, bracelets, and even hoops—have been created through these partnerships. Their integrity, dedication, and tradition remain the backbone of my work.

Italian Chain Production: Craftsmanship and Flexibility

Italy is another cornerstone of my sourcing strategy. I’ve traveled there multiple times, not just to attend fairs but also to personally visit all the leading factories and compare production processes in detail. Each visit reinforced why Italy is regarded as one of the world’s jewelry capitals. The craftsmanship is outstanding, rooted in artistry and a long history of fine jewelry-making, but paired with an impressive flexibility and speed in production.

Just like my German partners, Italian factories are RJC members and work exclusively with recycled silver. What surprised me most, however, was the pricing: in many cases, Italian suppliers offered quotes up to 50% lower than Asia, without compromising on quality. This combination of artistry, efficiency, and competitive pricing makes Italy one of the strongest options for chain production worldwide.

Another unique aspect of working in Italy is transparency. Several suppliers invited me into their production facilities, granting me access to document the process from the inside. Showing how a piece of jewelry is made adds depth and authenticity that resonates strongly with today’s audiences.

One of my favorite chain suppliers in the world is based in Italy. They’ve become more than partners; they are true friends. Their openness, creativity, and commitment to excellence continue to inspire me and remain an essential part of my collections.

Supporting Brands With the Right Connections

After years of sourcing, traveling, and building partnerships, I now have a trusted network of Europe’s best chain factories. Each one is RJC-certified, committed to recycled silver, and dedicated to responsible production.

For brands, sourcing in Europe offers more than just reliable supply. It provides transparency, sustainability, and storytelling value—elements that modern customers increasingly demand. These qualities not only strengthen collections but also build trust, which is ultimately the strongest chain of all.

If you’re looking to produce your own jewelry collection and want to work with responsible, world-class suppliers, I’d be happy to connect you.
